I brought the groupon now! deal ($65 for cut, highlight,condition and style). The salon owner was able to get me in on the same day I called which was totally awesome. The entire staff at the salon were EXTREMELY friendly and very accomodating, even though it was super busy and the salon was swarmed with people waiting for their cut. I got there about 30 mins early because it was pouring outside and I didn't want to walk around... Lina got me in right away so I didn't have to wait and brainstormed with me a good cut and color.
The highlights were great! My base tone was dark on the ends and light on the top, so matching highlights is kind of a difficult task. Lina put a toner on my hair and the color is awesome! She also finished off with a really cute cut and exactly what I wanted!
I loved this salon and I will for sure be back for my next cut and color!! :)

I just moved to Portland and needed a haircut and some highlights to brighten up my hair for some upcoming job interviews. I have never gotten professional hair color before. Usually, I just use box dye and I've always been pleased with myself, but I knew not to tackle highlights on my own.
Since I'm currently unemployed, I searched for the best deal in my area. At Jovana Salon, a cut + color + deepcondition + style for $65 over the course of 2 hours?! That is an insane deal.
I have really thick and long hair, so my hair always costs extra. My stylist T.T took one look at my hair and said, "For your hair, $80, okay?" which I was actually really pleased about because most of my former stylists don't tell me my hair will be extra until I pay, which is misleading because they should know before they start.
T.T is the first Asian stylist I've ever had, and I don't know what has taken me so long because I'm Asian myself and I've never been thrilled with any particular stylist before until now. I felt like she really understood my hair and how to tackle it. She ended up cutting off a little more than I expected, but she had a look on her face that said, "Trust me, this will be awesome," so I kept quiet until the end.
